CAPO MARTINO JERMANN 2019 DESCRIPTION

The Capo Martino by Jermann is an incredible oenological adventure where Friulano stars in a show alongside other indigenous grape varieties. It is named after the Capo Martino hill, where the grapes grow that in 1991 gave rise to what the heirs of Anton Jermann called the "little dream, towards a promised land," a wine in honor of the winery's founder who in 1881 made a journey from the current Slovenian Collio to Villanova.

The Little Dream was the spokesperson for the ancient craftsmanship and traditional knowledge that permeate Friulian gastronomic culture. The choice to use Ribolla Gialla and dried Tocai was obvious to Anton Jermann's great-grandchildren, as these are two grape varieties that symbolize the local winemaking tradition and express the desire to create a wine representing the culture of an ancient terroir. This idea is now embodied in the bottles of Capo Martino, a splendid white wine, winner of the most prestigious titles in world oenology; conceived as the successor to the Little Dream for its ability to communicate the soul of Friuli sip by sip.

A terroir in a glass that enchants with vibrant golden glints, captivates with distant nuances, memories of tropical fruits, fresh like lime, sweet like the scent of ripe fruit. With unparalleled verve, Capo Martino tells us the flavors of a bygone world, refined by excellent work in the cellar. On the palate, it is surprising, swirling with silky grace without ever losing its remarkable freshness; like spring water, it is mineral and savory. An excellent white wine, the Capo Martino by Jermann has pleasantly enchanted us.
