The Bordeaux du Paysan Blanc, produced by Domaine Nicolas Roux, is a pure Sauvignon Blanc of beautiful fruity freshness. As the name on the label clearly indicates, it is a bottle that is willing to forego the prestigious allure of one of the world's most famous terroirs, to instead claim its 'peasant', straightforward and simple nature. Indeed, its personality expresses the youthful aromatic fragrance and expressive immediacy of the grape variety. The fruity and citrus notes give a clear freshness, which makes the wine very suitable to be enjoyed as an aperitif or in combination with appetisers, seafood and delicately flavoured fish dishes.
The Bordeaux du Paysan Blanc wine of Nicolas Roux is the fruit of a family domaine that has been cultivating vines in the Bordeaux region for more than 150 years. The area is one of the most famous in the world for the production of great reds for ageing, but it is also very suitable for white grapes and in particular for Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon. The oceanic climate, cool and tempered by the presence of the broad estuary of the Gironde, and the alluvial soils, composed of pebbles transported over the millennia by the Garonne, are very draining and rich in mineral elements, particularly suitable for sustaining the vines. At the end of the harvest, the best bunches of grapes are softly pressed and the free-run must is sent to spontaneous fermentation, using only indigenous yeasts, in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Before bottling, the wine matures for several months in stainless steel tanks to preserve the varietal fragrance intact.
The Bordeaux du Paysan Blanc from Domaine Nicolas Roux is a wine that gives direct pleasure and authentically expresses the best characteristics that Sauvignon Blanc expresses on the graves soils of the Bordeaux area. In the glass, it has a luminous straw yellow colour with light golden reflections. The bouquet is of great finesse, with delicate aromas of white flowers, orange blossom, citrus fragrances, lime zest, grapefruit, aromas of white-fleshed fruit and vegetal nuances of medicinal herbs. Flowing and agile on the palate, it conquers with an aromatically intense and finely multifaceted sip, which leads to a very fresh finish marked by savoury sensations.
