The story of the great red wines from Bolgheri crosses, from the late '70s, the one of Grattamacco estate, a true viticulture jewel in the coastal area of Castagneto Carducci able to offer, year after year, products of great significance in the context of acclimatization of international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot. Genuine and strong key-factor of Grattamacco assets are the vineyards of property, situated in a natural cradle protected from the strong winds coming from the close sea, with 14 hectares of land alternating silt, sand, limestone and red marl in their composition. At Grattamacco estate the grapes are carefully selected by hand-sortings and then placed in a conical wooden vats, where fermentation occurs naturally with soft and long macerations and frequent manual pumping-overs.
