The Bolgheri Rosso "Cont'Ugo" by Guado al Tasso - Antinori is one of those great red wines that have helped to elevate, disseminate and promote the beautiful area of Bolgheri. We are right in the middle of the so-called "Bolgheri amphitheater", on gentle hills that surround the plain which stretches down to the sea in a unique terroir that sees the presence of a very favorable climate and characteristic: mild winters and hot, dry summers, in partially mitigated by the influence of the sea. The Bolgheri Rosso "Cont'Ugo" comes from a careful selection of grapes during harvest, which are then transferred into stainless steel vats where they ferment and macerate for about 25 days. This Merlot is aged for 8 months in French oak barrels and another 4 in barrique. The Bolgheri Rosso "Cont'Ugo" on the nose with intense notes of cherry and raspberry that blend well with typical scents of the Mediterranean. It’s a vibrant wine, fresh, tasty and absolutely balanced.
