Barbera d'Alba Bajaj is a fresh and fragrant red wine made from Barbera and a small portion of Nebbiolo, the most important red grape varieties in the Piedmont wine scene. The grapes come from the winery's oldest vineyard, 80 years old, but the result is a young and dynamic wine, with a fresh and pleasant sip supported by good acidity, very fruity and floral on both nose and palate

The Barbera d'Alba produced by the Bajaj winery is a fragrant and fruity version of this popular and ancient Piedmontese grape variety. It is born in the lands of the Roero, which lend a particular finesse and delicacy to this wine with its usually exuberant and intense character. The fruit of an old vineyard, which yields few bunches per plant, but with a notable aromatic concentration, it expresses the characteristic fruity notes of the vine, enveloped in a pleasant expressive harmony and a freshness, which gives fluidity to the sip, without overdoing it. A great gastronomic wine, particularly suitable for accompanying first courses with tasty sauces, meat sauces or roast white meats or small feathered game on the spit.
Barbera d'Alba Bajaj is one of the wines that best represents the careful work of this family-run winery. The estate stretches over the hills of Monteu Roero, in the heart of this famous wine region of Piedmont. In this area, classic indigenous vines are grown on sandy soils, which favour expressive finesse over structure and power. The Barbera grapes, and to a small extent Nebbiolo, come from an old vineyard that is more than 80 years old, a true heritage of the winery. The grapes are destemmed, followed by spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks using a pied de cuve and maceration on the skins with periodic pumping over and punching down. The wine matures partly in steel tanks and partly in used barriques. Bottling takes place without filtration or clarification and with minimal addition of sulphites.
The Barbera d'Alba is the most important label of the Bajaj winery. It comes, in fact, from the estate's most prized parcel, which has always been capable of yielding grapes of superior quality, regardless of the weather conditions of the vintage. To the eye it is a beautiful dark ruby red with luminous purple reflections. Intense and rich, it reveals on the nose aromas of ripe red fruit, wild blackberry, wild strawberry, cherry, red-fleshed plum, floral hints of violet and spicy nuances. Of medium structure, it has a delicate tannic texture, juicy fruit and a finish of lively freshness.
