The red Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà is produced by one of the most interesting entities in this Langhe appellation. The Produttori del Barbaresco winery was founded in 1958 and today brings together 50 farmers. In addition to producing a Nebbiolo and an assemblage Barbaresco, it makes a series of labels dedicated to individual crus to make the most of the typicality of each area and allow fans to discover the different nuances of Barbaresco: Asili, Montefico, Montestefano, Muncagota, Ovello, Pajè, Pora, Rabajà and Rio Sordo. The winery has become known for a serious and rigorous approach that has always focused on uncompromising quality and a very classic style of wines that respects the most ancient traditions of the Langhe.
Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà wine from Produttori del Barbaresco comes from a nearly 4-hectare vineyard facing southwest, located at an altitude of 240 to 300 meters above sea level. Rabaja lies right in the centre of the appellation's territory, at the meeting point between the ridge that descends from Ovello and the one that joins it to Pora on the southeast, northwest axis. The soils, characterized by calcareous-clay marls with sand veins and the sunny climate, allow the production of wines with great character and personality. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel, with maceration on the skins for about 4 weeks. The wine matures for 36 months in oak barrels and completes ageing with 12 months in a bottle. In the glass, it has a ruby red colour with garnet reflections. The bouquet is elegant and ripe, with aromas of cherry, raspberry, currant, small berries and delicate hints of spice. The sip is intense and satisfying, with harmonious development and fine tannic texture. The finish is long, persistent and of balanced freshness. A Barbaresco of absolute excellence, among the best expressions of the terroir.
