The Roero Arneis Renesio from the Malvirà winery is a fresh, simple and expressive territorial white wine that oozes with passion, the passion put by the winery's owners in conducting their vineyards and searching for the best plots where they can obtain expressive and identity-enhancing whites made from Arneis, the symbolic white grape variety of the Roero. Enhancement of the territory and its peculiarities are the strengths of the Malvirà winery and the labels produced, which are finding good success in Italy and around the world.
This bottle comes from the Renesio vineyard, a cru of the Roero, located on a south-facing hillside at an elevation of about 300 meters and dominated by cypress trees and an old farmhouse over 250 years old. The soil is clay and limestone, and the vines are grown on a biological regime. The grapes, carefully selected during the harvest, are sent to the winery where vinification work begins. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel tanks, where ageing on the fine lees for a period of about 9 months also takes place. The rest of about 2 months in the bottle completes the production process. The label under which it is marketed is a tribute both to the mysterious and fascinating symbols of the tarot cards and to the ancient coat of arms of the Roero Counts depicting a wheel, which has become a symbol of the territory.
The Roero Arneis DOCG Renesio shows an intense straw-yellow colour of beautiful luminosity to the eye. The nose is fine, pleasant, fragrant and variegated: there are sensations of white fruits, cut field grass and hints of wildflowers against a mineral background. On the palate, it is concentrated, beautifully fresh and savoury, elegant, flowing and intensely enveloping. Definitely one of the symbols of the grit the Damonte family puts into producing wines that reflect the many facets of the Roero hills, an extraordinarily vocated and fascinating territory.
