This Barolo 'Rocche' is a fascinating red wine from Piedmont that ranks at the top of the entire denomination in terms of prestige and recognition. A product capable of narrating not only all the grace of the type and grape variety used, Nebbiolo, but also the history of the Brovia winery, a reality located in Castiglione Falletto, founded in 1863 and always renowned for the quality of its labels. A peculiarity that continues to this day, with this austere and complex Barolo, which starts in Piedmont to reach the palates of true connoisseurs around the world.
Barolo 'Rocche' comes from the pure use of a grape that, in Piedmont, gives rise to several quality wines, Nebbiolo. The vines of this variety grow within the cru that gives its name to the label, Rocche di Castiglione, in vineyards located at approximately 350 metres above sea level, which grow by sinking their roots into a predominantly sandy subsoil. Between the rows of vines, working practices are based onorganic farming principles. Once the grapes are harvested and brought to Brovia's wine-making facilities, they alcoholically ferment thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts, macerating for 15-20 days. Maturation then takes place for 24 months in French and Slavonian oak barrels, and no filtration is carried out at the time of bottling.
Brovia Barolo 'Rocche' announces itself with a deep, compact ruby colour. On the nose, ethereal notes are first perceived, enriched by sensations of dried fruit and flowers, even dried ones. On the palate, it has great depth, and the sip is important, full and elegant, perfectly balanced. A Piedmont red that grinds out awards year after year, placing itself at the top of the entire denomination in terms of quality.
