Tenute Sella's Bramaterra is a wine with ancient origins. In fact, evidence of its existence can be traced as far back as 1447, and we are therefore faced with a type that can boast a centuries-old history. This version presented by Tenute Sella comes from a blend between Nebbiolo, Vespolina and Croatina, grapes selected with extreme care in the plots of Villa del Bosco and Brusnengo, leading to a full, rounded sip, where it is the mineral notes that represent the defining element on the nose and palate. A bottle that can easily evolve again for the next 10 years.
This Bramaterra is made by Tenute Sella by blending Nebbiolo with two uncommon red grape varieties, Vespolina and Croatina. The vines of these three varieties are about 50 years old and grow in a terroir composed of porphyritic sands of volcanic origin at an elevation of about 300 meters above sea level. The grapes, after manual harvesting, ferment in steel containers, macerating for up to a maximum of 30 days. This is followed by ageing, the wine of which remains to rest in Slavonian oak barrels for 28 months until bottling and marketing operations begin.
Tenute Sella Bramaterra presents itself in the glass with a colour reminiscent of garnet tones. The olfactory spectrum is layered, moving through a progression of mineral, fruity, spicy and floral notes. On the palate, it is of excellent structure, with a swaddling mouthfeel on the palate, harmonious in manifesting soft, well-worked tannins; it finishes with a finish characterized by a savoury aftertaste, endowed with good persistence. A label of character and personality, with which Tenute Sella confirms itself as one of the most valid production realities of the Biella area.
