The Domaine Hadrien Houbert is located in Le Vivier, just outside the village of Fleurie, in one of the most renowned crus in the whole of Beaujolais, where with cute craftsmanship and intense passion Hadrien takes care of his vineyards. This is a very young Domaine, having been born in 2020, the year in which the vigneron officially embarked on his oenological career after taking the courageous decision to change his life completely. In fact, before the wine business, Hadrien worked as a cabinetmaker in Paris. Approaching the world of wine, in 2018 he obtained the Professional Certificate of Directing Agricultural Operations at the school of Beaune, in Burgundy, taking two years later 3 hectares of leased vineyards in some of the most important crus of Beaujolais. Although Fleurie is not among them, Hadrien bought an old building in the vicinity of the village and converted it into a house, cellar and warehouse.

The only variety cultivated by Hadrien Houbert is Gamay, the main grape of Beaujolais, which the winemaker cultivates using organic and biodynamic practices. He works the land with the aid of a horse, thus avoiding over-compacting the soil with the passage of agricultural machinery, and also uses fermented plant extracts prepared by him to promote healthy soil and plants. In the cellar, fermentation takes place spontaneously, accompanied by semi-carbonic maceration as is traditional for the area, while for the choice of wine containers, Hadrien likes to experiment. Therefore, depending on the wine, he uses stoneware amphorae, stainless steel tanks, fibreglass vats, concrete vats or small wooden barrels. Throughout the entire process any input is then excluded, with the wines finally being bottled without undergoing any filtration.

Domaine Hadrien Houbert is the star of a selection of Gamay with a fresh and juicy style, always with a pulpy fruit in evidence. Morgon, Chénas, Moulin-a-Vent and Chiroubles are the crus vinified by the producer, labelled with illustrations of the plants used by Hadrien in phytotherapy.
