The 'Montalto' Bianco Barone Montalto is a Sicilian white wine made from Grillo, Viogner and Chardonnay, grown in the Belice Valley area. It is aged in steel on fine lees for three months, preserving the aromatic characteristics of the grape varieties. Fresh, fragrant and pleasantly savory on the palate, the nose expresses notes of citrus, floral hints and tropical fruit. Serve as an accompaniment to fish or light summer dishes
'Montalto' White from the Barone Montalto winery is a wine produced with Grillo, Viognier, and Chardonnay grapes from the historic Belice Valley, a Sicilian territory rich in history and characterized by predominantly limestone, clay, and iron soil. Barone Montalto, an undisputed protagonist of Sicilian viticulture, stands out for managing approximately 400 hectares of vineyards, some of which are subject to the strict "Montalto quality protocols," ensuring constant quality control and growth over time. The label in question is the result of the combination of tradition and innovation and the outcome of an ideal territory for climate and soil.
The heart of the wine production of 'Montalto' White by Barone Montalto is located near Santa Ninfa, in the province of Trapani, an ideal territory for vine cultivation thanks to the light breeze that blows constantly through the rows, caressing the clusters, thanks to the sun, water, soil conditions, and the skillful hands of the producers. The winery, equipped with state-of-the-art and highly certified facilities, is committed to vinifying respecting the natural characteristics of the grape varieties used. The process begins with an alcoholic fermentation that lasts for 8-10 days, taking place at a controlled temperature of 16-18 °C. Subsequently, it proceeds with refinement on the noble lees, which takes place in steel tanks, where constant batonnage is carried out for a period of about three months, thus ensuring the freshness and fragrance typical of this wine.
'Montalto' White Barone Montalto presents itself with a yellow color with greenish reflections and stands out for its aromaticity and structure, accompanied by a pleasant sapidity and fragrant notes of tropical fruit, white flowers, and citrus. This wine lends itself magnificently to be paired with fish dishes, poultry, and fresh summer salads, enhancing their characteristics and offering a memorable tasting experience. Sicily, as the producers affirm, "is a magical land where respect for nature gives wines of character," just like this wine.
