Carussin's Barbera d'Asti "Lia Vì" is a pulpy and satisfying daily wine, a joyful ally of the everyday table. The Carussin winery is a well-known acquaintance to artisanal wine enthusiasts, an authoritative exponent of the territory that separates Nizza Monferrato from Canelli, and indeed the souls of the two municipalities come together in the production of splendid reds but also of one of Italy's finest Moscati wines. In the vineyard, in addition to careful observation work, organic farming is practised, assisted by some precepts of biodynamics, to preserve and enhance the vitality of soil and plants. As of today, there are about 16 hectares under vine, for what is a true all-round farm, dedicated to the breeding of splendid animals and also to the sale of bulk wine, so as not to forget the good and ancient farming traditions.
The red Barbera d'Asti "Lia Vì" is made from pure grapes of the vine of the same name, from vineyards located in the municipality of San Marzano Oliveto, in the Asti area. In the vineyard, as already mentioned, the use of any chemical or synthetic substances is excluded, making use of only a little copper and sulfur and natural preparations, while in the winery, we continue with spontaneous alcoholic fermentation, long maceration on the skins and ageing from 3 to 6 months in cement tanks.
Barbera "Lia Vì" presents itself in the glass with a ruby robe edged with purple highlights. The nose bursts with hints of dark tones, such as ripe cherry, plum and graphite, tracing a welcoming yet extremely refined profile. Generous and filling sip, rightly alcoholic but simultaneously enlivened by a vivid freshness and tannin that is timely from a gastronomic perspective. The perfect red for family lunches.
