Ian Macleod Distillers, located in Broxburn and founded in 1933, is one of the largest and most respected "Scottish families" of the world of spirits, encompassing several distilleries of whisky, gin, vodka and rum. Among his major whisky brands, it includes Isle of Skye, King Robert and Smokehead. The latter, characterized by a modern aesthetic, was introduced in 2006, and soon became an established Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky. The identity of the distillery that produces the good whisky, however, is surrounded by a deep mystery: no one knows it!
Smokehead is a whisky with a singular character, heavily peaty, spicy, with marine notes, but also sweet ones that soften the smokiness in a surprising way. Its Single Malt fully resume the vigorous and intense character of the Isle of Islay, famous for its heavily peaty whisky. On its labels are indicated in a characteristic way all the various adjectives with which you can describe the spirit and the character of the distillate.
Among its products, we suggest the rare and powerful peaty Single Malt 18 years, produced in just 6,000 bottles. Smokehead is not a whisky for the faint of heart, but for those who have not lost the spirit of adventure, young or not so young.
