Giacomelli winery is located in the heart of Colli di Luni, Castelnuovo Magra, in the province of La Spezia. Founded in 1993, Roberto Petacchi has made respect for nature a company philosophy. As a source of balance between the environment work and the man one, the winery represents for him also a dear inheritance, carried forward by the passion of his grandfather Pietro Giacomelli, along with the vineyard of 1913. Being free from any ideology, Roberto has placed at the base of his work a minimal human intervention, minimally invasive, intended merely to encourage the variegated shades that nature can offer. In this perspective, the magnificent natural heritage of the company is in harmony with the traditional crafts and the advanced equipment of the company, leading to very high quality wines. Roberto rejects the use of herbicides and always encourages the presence of local microfauna for the so-called integrated pest management: the decrease in the use of pesticides thus leaves the place to the equilibrium established by nature. The characteristics of the terroir emerge in the precious varieties of wines that are fragrant and mineral, extremely pleasant. These features are due to the peculiarities of the place where the vines are located: the near sea makes mild the temperatures, while the soil is rich in minerals. The authenticity of the work of the Azienda Agricola Giacomelli creates Vermentini that encapsulate the identity and cultural heritage of the winery, in perfect harmony with nature.
