De Buris is a brand launched by one of the most important names in Veneto wine and more generally in the Italian wine scene. The Tommasi Family has decided to expand its range of wines, creating a small jewel dedicated to those in search of absolute quality without compromise. A high-end label, which aims to represent the qualitative summit of the company's production. It is a wine destined to assume the role of brand ambassador and a sure value over time, an interpreter of the best traditions of the territory. The name of the new brand echoes that of Villa De Buris, the oldest residence in the Valpolicella area, an example of a country villa that harks back to the noble origins of the local wines.
The Tommasi winery was founded in 1902 by Giacomo Tommasi. Today it is managed by the fourth generation of the family, which carries on the ancient customs in the name of excellence and loyalty to the land of Valpolicella. The estate covers more than 240 hectares, in the most vocated areas of the hilly territory north of Verona, but Tommasi also owns other properties located in famous areas of the peninsula. A process of expansion that has seen the brand acquire wineries in Montalcino, the Tuscan Maremma, the Vùlture, Oltrepò Pavese and Puglia. With De Buris, the family has returned to its origins, right in the heart of Valpolicella, where the story began, to make an absolutely special version of Amarone, a wine that is a symbol of the area and loved all over the world.
The project started way back. About 20 years ago Tommasi bought the vineyards of La Groletta, a true cru of Valpolicella, with an extension of less than two hectares, characterized by fine clay soils. The exposure faces southwest and the climate is influenced by the mild breezes of Lake Garda. De Buris was created to represent luxury in the world of wine, an exclusive experience reserved for a few connoisseurs. In fact, the wine comes from grapes that are rigorously selected based on the family's long experience and deep knowledge of the territory. It aims to be the culmination of a long history, the label that best represents its essence and absolute excellence.
