Bernard Dugat-Py

Domaine Bernard Dugat-Py is a historic estate based in Gevrey-Chambertin, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, in one of Burgundy's most famous Grands Terroirs. It is a family-owned estate that can boast origins dating back to the early 17th century. Since 1999, the estate's conversion to organic farming began, from the beginning with the vines used to produce the historic Gevrey-Chambertin Coeur de Roy cuvée, then with the rest of the estate, which has been Bio certified since 2003. Since 2006, the Domaine has begun to use horse for the tillage of many of the vineyards, so as not to compact the soil and leave the soils soft and rich in natural vitality. In recent years the estate has continued to enrich its holdings, with acquisitions of prestigious plots.

Today at the helm of the winery are Loïc and Bernard Dugat-Py, the thirteenth generation of vignerons, who continue to cultivate their vines with great passion and expertise, in the name of tradition and ancient savoir-faire. The property covers about ten hectares, divided into numerous parcels located within Applellations of extraordinary prestige: Chambertin, Mazis-Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin, Mazoyères-Chambertin, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru, Gevrey-Chambertin Village, Vosne Romanée, Pommard, Chrey les Beaume, Fixin, Corton-Charlemagne, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru, Meursault, Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru, a mosaic of exceptionally valuable vineyards, guaranteeing a range of labels of absolute excellence.

Domaine Bernard Dugat-Py possesses a vineyard heritage, characterized by the presence of many old vines over 65 years old, which produce few bunches per plant, but give grapes of the highest quality, characterized by particularly rich and concentrated aromas. The vineyards were created with mass selections of the best plants on the estate, so as to maintain a genetic heritage, which guarantees a continuity in the style of the domaine, with wines of great territorial typicality, authentic expressions of an exceptional place. All wines are made only from estate grapes, so that the entire supply chain can be controlled.
