The Brut Sparkling Wine "Cuvée dei Frati" is the elegant and refined Metodo Classico sparkling wine from the Ca' dei Frati winery, which leverages the great potential of the Lombardy region overlooking Lake Garda and the Turbiana grape, also known as Trebbiano di Lugana, a fortunate clone of Trebbiano di Soave.
This Metodo Classico sparkling wine, characterized by good structure and intensity, is made from Turbiana grapes, with a small percentage of Chardonnay added. The grapes come from clayey limestone soils near Lake Garda, which, with its cool breezes, brings significant benefits to the vines. The first fermentation occurs partly in steel and partly in barrels, while the second fermentation occurs strictly in the bottle, following the Metodo Classico. After a rest of 24 months on the lees, the disgorging takes place, with subsequent bottle ageing for another 4 months.
The Brut Sparkling Wine "Cuvée dei Frati" presents itself in a beautiful golden yellow hue, enlivened by a fine and persistent perlage. It captivates the sense of smell with delicate yet substantial notes of hazelnut, herbs, and aged tobacco. It is soft and creamy in the mouth, with good freshness and pleasantly biscuity aromatic returns. Ideal as an aperitif, this Metodo Classico sparkling wine is extraordinarily versatile and can elegantly and impeccably accompany entire meals featuring fish, white meats, and fresh cheeses.
