The Sake Yuzu Shu Tsuji Honten is a fresh, citrusy sake made from a blend of sake made from Omachi rice and yuzu juice. The yuzu gives the sake its pungent citrine streak, well balanced by a sweet, lingering sip. A very versatile sake in pairings, excellent with cheeses, appetizers and desserts, but it can also be used as a base for cocktails
The Yuzushu Sake from Sakagura Tsuji Honten represents a particular version of sake combined with yuzu juice, resulting in a very fresh and fragrant beverage. This category is aptly named Yuzushu and represents a type of light liqueur, with an alcohol content around 10%, very popular in Japan. What makes these products so distinctive is precisely the yuzu, a citrus fruit widespread in East Asia characterized by a bright yellow color and a shape similar to that of a clementine. Its particularly aromatic scent can resemble a mix between grapefruit and mandarin, and precisely because of its particularly pleasant aromas, this fruit finds wide use in Japanese cuisine.
Tsuji Honten Yuzushu Sake is produced from a combination of Junmai Boidamoto Rocky Mountain Sake from Sakagura Tsuji Honten and yuzu juice from Okayama Prefecture. In particular, the sake is brewed with Omachi rice cultivated in Okayama Prefecture and polished to a polishing degree of 65%, thus falling into the Junmai category. Traditional practices are adopted in the production process of this sake, and alcohol and sugar are also used in the preparation of Yuzushu.
Tsuji Honten Yuzushu Sake has a pale yellow color. The impact on the nose is rich and pungent, deeply citrusy, while the taste is sweet and fruity, with a fresh and beautifully persistent finish. Yuzushu in general, and Tsuji Honten's in particular, is an exceptionally versatile light liqueur that can be enjoyed chilled neat or with ice, as an aperitif or after-dinner paired with various desserts and cheeses. It is also excellent in mixology to add an exotic touch to your cocktails.
