ROSATO BOSCO FALCONERIA 2020 DESCRIPTION

The Rosato di Bosco Falconeria is a distinctive expression of Nero d'Avola vinified as rosé through a brief skin maceration, aimed at enriching the wine with aromas as well as colour. This wine is part of the Denominazione di Origine Controllata Alcamo, which includes white, rosé and red wines produced in a circumscribed area located in the north-western part of Sicily. The name of the appellation derives from the town of the same name located in the Gulf of Castellamare, a few kilometres away from the Bosco Falconeria estate.
Bosco Falconeria Rosato is a 100% Nero d'Avola grown on espalier and Alcamese bush-trained vines on hilly red soils of medium texture, particularly rich in limestone. The vineyards are run under a certified organic system, with the soils being fed with green manure of wild herbs and leguminous plants, and the estate also applies what is known as 'agriculture by subtraction', which does not just use the products allowed by organic farming regulations but drastically reduces their use. Following manual harvesting, the grapes are transferred to the cellar for spontaneous alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, accompanied by just 24 hours of contact between the must and the skins. The subsequent elevation phase also takes place in stainless steel and lasts 6 months, followed by a further 4 months of bottle ageing before release.
The Rosato di Nero d'Avola Bosco Falconeria has a fascinating intense pink hue. Rich and articulate olfactory baggage, capable of evoking scents of red fruits and flowers that combine with Mediterranean hints. The balance of the sip is excellent, very drinkable and tasty, endowed with remarkable freshness and a distinctly fruity finish.
