The Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso Riserva by Moschioni is a summary of how to be a true Refosco; fruity, round, smooth, full-bodied and with a freshness really important. It was born in the beautiful cellar of Michele Moschioni who likes to describe himself as a person with a difficult character, such as screws farming. A major character in the world of wine in a land of great white wines has decided to stake everything on red wines, all very muscular and powerful. This Refosco comes from vineyards located in Cividale and Prepotto, all facing South-East, with an altitude of 140 meters above sea level; here the soils are rich in clay and has a philosophy Moschioni all geared on agriculture and traditional vinification: no herbicides or desiccants, only organic fertilizers, whose environmental impact of the treatments absolutely minimized. The Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso by Moschioni after a harvest strictly by hand, fermented in stainless steel tanks with only indigenous yeasts. The aging is something of important: 12 months in barriques partly new and partly to the second step, 12 months in large oak casks and 6-8 months in stainless steel before being bottled without any filtration. We are faced with a very important and long-lived red that shows itself in all its bright purplish red, with shades and a sharp storyline intact and dense; the palate offers great freshness and balance, with a bouquet of cherries and blackberries that conquest and enchants.
