Mazzetti d'Altavilla is the perfect union of people and territory. Piedmont's oldest distillery was founded back in 1846 in the concentric village of Montemagno, in the heart of the Monferrato lands, by the passion that drove Filippo Mazzetti. The heroic distiller, grieving over the inauspicious ways in which the marc was stored and conserved, went on long journeys even far from his headquarters, in search of quality raw materials among the Langa and Roero estates. The relocation of the company to the former monastery at the top of the Altavilla Monferrato hill coincides with the enhancement of the immense sensory heritage hidden among the hills and varieties of this renowned territory.

Grappa Riserva Alba' is a creation that Mazzetti d'Altavilla dedicates to the excellence of Piedmont, a land of noble grape varieties that have contributed to writing the history of a region and its families over the centuries. In the context of such a landscape, a distillate is elaborated that adds the aristocratic fame of the Langhe to the shy craftsmanship of the Canavese: the selected marc of Nebbiolo da Barolo and Erbaluce give life to a blend of distillates capable of blending superbly and giving intense taste emotions. The black and white grapes are transformed in stills using a discontinuous process, with great respect for the timing and temperature at which the aromas are extracted, and the spirits are aged for no less than 18 months in Tronçais oak barrels. After blending, the distillate is further aged for several months in precious woods. The result is a grappa with an intense amber colour, harmonious and pronounced aromas and a taste balance characterised by a marked softness.
