FRANCIACORTA BRUT ENRICO GATTI DESCRIPTION

Enrico Gatti's Franciacorta Brut is the ideal example to keep in mind when discussing small entities linked to bottles of great quality. Near the town of Erbusco, with 5 hectares of Chardonnay planted in 1985, between 180 and 280 meters above sea level, Lorenzo and Paola, children of the founder whose name the winery bears, produce this Brut of great elegance and balance. A true boast for Franciacorta.

Enrico Gatti's Brut Franciacorta is made entirely from Chardonnay grapes, which at harvest time are harvested exclusively by hand and then transferred to the modern winery. Once a soft pressing is carried out, temperature-controlled vinification takes place inside steel tanks. As the Metodo Classico dictates, re-fermentation in the bottle is carried out with a final ageing of 24 months on the lees so that the full potential of the unique grape variety is fully expressed.

Enrico Gatti winery, with its Franciacorta Brut, declares itself and exhibits the winery's personality. Bright straw yellow with a bubble of sensual persistence from the fine streetcar invites the glass closer to the nose. Here ripe and tropical fruits present themselves sweetly and delicately followed by splendid toasted and bread crust scents. Grapefruit and hay notes conclude the fine aromatic mosaic. Brought to the palate, this Franciacorta Brut opens with an incredible balance between savoriness and freshness, thus building a sip of tenacious persistence and vibrant harmony. With this sparkling Chardonnay, one is really spoilt for choice in terms of pairing: excellent as a one man show during an aperitif, it becomes a faithful squire of all courses starring fish.
