The Hennessy XO Cognac is a highly prestigious distillate, produced starting in 1870. It was born from the assembly of 100 brandies, of which the youngest was aged for 12 years in oak barrels. Intense hints of fruit, citrus peel, spices and candied fruit come together in a robust and deep sip, of impeccable balance
This cognac was born in 1870 in the historic French fashion house along the river Charente. The Hennessy XO has elegance and complexity, is composed of more than a hundred spirits (some dating back to the beginning of the last century) that come from the largest reserves of old Cognac in the world and resting well kept in the cellars Hennessy. This cognac "extra old" was created by Maurice Hennessy for his circle of friends, having a desire to produce something unique never existed. The blend conceived and designed aging for a long period of time, at least 12 years so as to give an unequaled strength. The intense and deep amber color is a sign of its strength. The flavors of candied fruit and prominent nose and slightly spicy create the right harmony, great power and balanced roundness. In the mouth it is soft and expresses the presence of hot cocoa and a hint of fruit, cigar leaf and toasted nuts. The long finish expresses all the complexity of a cognac with a long aging process. Interesting if drunk slowly so as to appreciate the evolution in the glass. To be enjoyed neat, on ice or with a splash of water or sparkling.
