"Aux Charmes" Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is a mythological expression of Burgundy made in the legendary Gevrey Chambertin. A champion of great prestige and importance, the result of a biodynamic approach and aging in barrique for over 20 months. Silky, harmonious and of great personality and class, it releases an intense and refined olfactory profile, composed of notes of wild berries, sweet spices, violets, toasting and balsamic hints
Thibault Liger-Belair's Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru beguiles with its ardent aromatic availability, and is a spokesman for one of Gevrey Chambertin's most sensual Grand Cru. Another masterpiece signed Thibault Liger-Belair, magnificent interpreter of some of the most vocated plots of the Cote D'Or, as well as, as often happens to the most inspired young upstarts, a winemaker capable of freeing himself from a prestigious family context, embarking on a personal path that is no less satisfying. His wines are characterized by a spontaneous and luminous style, the result of rigorous biodynamic viticulture and equally serious cellar work, leading each cru to express its peculiarities without counterfeiting. Liquids one better than the other, whose sumptuous aromatic momentum does not fade in the short term, but is indeed capable of renewing itself with rest in the bottle.
Charmes Chambertin Thibault is made from pure Pinot Noir grapes from the Grand Cru of the same name located in Gevrey Chambertin. The grapes, selected from a micro plot of 0.30 hectares, are cultivated following the dictates of biodynamics, so the only substances allowed in the vineyard are very small amounts of copper and sulfur, as well as natural preparations. In the cellar, spontaneous alcoholic fermentations and aging in barriques, half of them new, lasting 20 months, are continued.
The Grand Cru Charmes Chambertin presents itself in the goblet with a bright ruby robe. The olfactory impact is stunning for its intensity and variety of references, ranging from raspberry, oriental spices, rosehips and incense to underbrush and balsamic lashings. The sip is silky and tapered, with a persuasive texture but endowed with a length that only the truly outstanding possess. Stunning bottle, and significant for understanding the greatness of an appellation.
