Bodega Chacra winery's 'Chacra' Chardonnay is an elegant, multifaceted white wine, born on the banks of the Rio Negro in Patagonia. Soft, complex, supported by a pleasant mineral vein typical of the wines of the area, the nose expresses notes of white peach, green apple and delicate nuances of toasted almond and hazelnut, due to the skillful aging in wood. An extremely sophisticated wine with excellent evolutionary potential
Bodega Chacra Chardonnay 'Chacra' represents a Patagonian label with a refined and complex soul, the result of a genuine production philosophy. This Argentinean winery is run by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, grandson of Marquis Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, creator together with Giacomo Tachis of the celebrated Sassicaia. To make his Chardonnays, Piero collaborates with Burgundian producer and former actor Jean-Marc Roulot, who decided to end his film career to devote himself to the family Domaine in the beautiful and noble Côte de Beaune.
Bodega Chacra's 'Chacra' Chardonnay is 100% Chardonnay from vines about 40 years old that are organically and biodynamically farmed. The vines are rooted on alluvial soils rich in stones, limestone and minerals. After harvest, the clusters are softly pressed, with the resulting must being vinified 65 percent by volume in used French oak barriques, 20 percent in cement eggs and the remaining 15 percent in stainless steel tanks, with alcoholic fermentation entrusted exclusively to indigenous yeasts. Maturation takes place in the same type of wine containers and lasts for 10 months, followed by blending and final bottling.
In the glass, 'Chacra' Bodega Chacra Chardonnay reveals a straw-yellow hue with brilliant reflections. The aromatic bouquet is broad, vibrant and intense, described by scents of green apple, white peach and cedar peel that blend with soft toasted nuances and lively mineral puffs. The flavor progression is elegant and creamy, characterized by brilliant freshness and a deep sapid-mineral vein on the finish. Thanks to its class and complexity, this Argentine Chardonnay pairs beautifully with sophisticated haute cuisine dishes, both seafood and land-based.
