It is a pure Chardonnay with a refined and crystal-clear profile, a faithful expression of a highly prized terroir, composed of limestone and chalk, which gives the wines sapidity, minerality and limpid freshness. Its floral and fruity aromas enhance the finesse of a fragrant and pleasantly satisfying sip. It is a perfect Champagne to enjoy as an aperitif, to accompany appetizers or seafood first courses with a delicate taste.
The "Hugues de Coulmet" cuvée is a Brut Blanc de Blancs Champagne made by Maison Pierre Moncuit in the tradition of centuries-old savoir-faire. Today the estate manages some 20 hectares, mostly located in the famous and prized Le Mesnil-Sur-Oger area, right in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. The grapes for the cuvée come from vineyards cultivated in the Sézanne area, which is characterized by chalky limestone soils that are particularly suited to the cultivation of Chardonnay, which expresses exceptional aromatic finesse in this area. At the end of the harvest, the grapes are pressed very gently so that only the flower must is extracted. After the first fermentation, the base wines are aged for a few months and are then blended to create the final blend. Refermentation takes place in the bottle according to the Champenoise Method, with an aging period sur lattes of at least 48 months.
Maison Pierre Moncuit's Brut Blanc de Blancs "Hugues de Coulmet" is an artisanal Champagne dedicated to those who prefer a classic, harmonious and fragrant taste or those who wish to discover the character of the Maison starting with its entry cuvée. To the eye, it has a beautiful bright light yellow color, crossed by a fine, continuous and persistent perlage. The bouquet is marked by aromas of white-fleshed fruit, green apple, tobacco peach, hints of citrus, slight floral and bread crust nuances.
