The Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Superiore "Villa Gemma" is a medium-bodied rosé wine, with intense and charming aromas of red fruits and wild berries. The taste is fresh and fruity, with light and elegant tannins. Vinified and aged in steel tanks
Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Superiore "Villa Gemma" confirms the great Abruzzo tradition of making rosé wines with Montepulciano, the most widespread native red grape variety in the area. It is a young and lively rosé, aromatic and fragrant, which well expresses the convivial joy of sharing a pleasant moment in company. Its good structure and persistence make it particularly versatile at the table, where it finds excellent pairings from hors d'oeuvres to first courses to main courses of delicate meats or stewed fish. Perfect to accompany fish soups or seafood broths, but also suitable for informal convivial occasions with pizza and fresh cheeses.
The grapes from which Villa Gemma Cerasuolo Superiore is made come from the area of the municipality of San Martino and San Marrucina. The vineyards are cultivated at about 400 meters above sea level on clay-limestone matrix soils, rich in skeleton. The continental climate, cool and breezy, guarantees considerable temperature ranges, which favor the slow ripening of the grapes with an intense aromatic profile. After harvesting, the grapes are gently crushed and undergo maceration for 24 hours. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 10/13 °C. After resting in steel for several months, the wine is bottled and released on the market the spring following the harvest.
Masciarelli's Superiore Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Villa Gemma shows a beautiful bright cherry color. The olfactory profile seduces with fragrant and delicate aromas of small berries and cherries, enhanced by elegant floral hints. The sip is crisp and appealing, with fragrant fruit, lively freshness and a crisp and mineral sapid streak. The finish is pleasantly persistent.
