A great terroir wine absolutely to be tried.
Bricco Riva Bianca' is a Buttafuoco produced by Picchioni, who owns a ten-hectare estate in Valle Soliga, near Canneto Pavese. It is right in the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese, a land that has been devoted to the cultivation of vines for centuries, that the great reds of this winery with an artisanal soul are born. The steep hills characterised by loose soils, rich in sand and pebbles, and the mild, sunny climate are an ideal habitat for red grape varieties. Harvesting is carried out manually and after destemming, fermentation takes place with maceration on the skins for about three weeks. The wine is aged for 12 months in wooden barrels of various sizes and completes its maturation with a further 6 months in the bottle.
Buttafuoco 'Bricco Riva Bianca' wine from Picchioni is a great red wine from the territory, which is perfectly suited to accompany the meat dishes of the local cuisine, such as stewed beef or stewed game. The olfactory picture is intense and rich, with hints of undergrowth and humus, aromas of wild blackberry, blackcurrant, red plum, hints of dark chocolate, tobacco, cocoa, notes of roasting, nuances of balsamic herbs and soft spices. On the palate, it reveals a remarkable structure with dense, lively tannins and a dense, juicy fruit, leading towards a balanced and very persistent finish. It is a wine for ageing, reaching full expressive maturity after about ten years of ageing.
