The Amarone Classico Stropa is the most prestigious and important red wine from the Monte dell'Ora winery. The dense and robust texture, rich and complex, is anticipated by an intense and balsamic aromatic array
Amarone Classico "Stropa" is the jewel in the crown of the Monte Dall'Ora winery, a small and prestigious winery linked to the ancient traditions of Valpolicella, the cradle of authentic, artisanal wines. Organic cultivation, spontaneous fermentation and ageing in large barrels are the cornerstones of all Monte Dall'Ora production.
Amarone Classico 'Stropa' owes its name to the willow suckers that have been used for centuries in Valpolicella to tie the vine shoots, which are very strong and flexible, able to withstand strong winter winds. Rooted on the limestone soils of the Castelrotto hillside, in the heart of Valpolicella, the vines are over 50 years old and are cultivated using the ancient system of the 'vite maritata,' which is arranged in rows supported and interrupted by tall trees such as mulberry and almond trees. The grapes harvested here are left to dry naturally for 5 months, then pressed in February and then macerated and fermented in open oak tonneaux for about a month, with frequent manual handling. Maturation in large Transeaux fracesian tonneaux for 4 years and then in bottle for another 12 months completes the production process.
Monte Dall'Ora's Amarone Classico "Stropa" presents itself with extraordinary aromatic richness and elegance, unleashing fruity and balsamic scents in which hints of raisins, berries and pepper can be recognized. The sip is full and dense, complex and very balanced, endowed with great persistence but, above all, with an authentic and very rare personality.
