The Aglianico del Vulture "Serra del Prete" is a structured wine, intense and rich in fruit, born from vines that have exceeded 50 years of age and aged in steel and cement. Hints of black fruit, flowers and licorice are the protagonists of a full, harmonious and balanced aromatic bouquet
Musto Carmelitano's Aglianico del Vulture "Serra del Prete" is a deep and expressive red, a faithful witness to one of the prince's chosen areas of the centre-south. Needless to deny, Aglianico is a grape variety capable of achieving degrees of complexity and longevity that are almost unattainable for many other central-south varieties, but like all great native grape varieties, it demands very specific territorial and climatic conditions. Among the three most vocated areas (Irpinia, Sannio and Vulture), the latter is perhaps the least known, but in our opinion, certainly not because of a quality factor. Here in Basilicata, Aglianico gives life to more sulfurous and spicy expressions, and Musto Carmelitano's interpretations are the absolute reference for those who want to approach this area. The almost unbeatable value for money does the rest, for a must-have always in the cellar.
"Serra del Prete" is a red wine made from pure Aglianico grapes from vines over 50 years old grown in Vulture. Chemical or synthetic substances are banned in the vineyard, and organic farming is practised. In the winery, no manipulations of any kind are carried out, so all alcoholic fermentations take place spontaneously in steel containers, and the dose of sulfur dioxide added at bottling is extremely low. The liquid ages for 10 months between steel and cement.
Musto Carmelitano's "Serra Del Prete" shows the typical Aglianico garb, an intense and impenetrable red. A nose of great strength and intensity, with clear hints of black pepper, earth, and dark fruit, as well as a sulphurous note typical of the area. On the palate, it is rich but far from complacent, driven by a constant dialogue between freshness and tannic contribution. Great meaty red in all its declinations.
Ruby red with intense violet hues
Rich and complex with hints of red and black fruit, scents of strawberry, lavender and licorice
Structured and rich, savory, with good and savory tannins, with a long finish
